Description

The term “bird dog” is used to describe a hunting dog that is trained to retrieve or hunt birds. The term comes from the way that hunting dogs, such as spaniels, pointers, and retrievers, hold their legs when they smell prey. They raise one front leg and the opposite back leg, pointing in the direction of the scent, position similar to the exercise.
